The Alcázar

     It is a former Moorish Alcázar currently housing a park.

     Built in the 11th century as a fortress and respecting most of the original structure, today it still features a grossly quadrangular line of walls, with a perimeter of c. 4,000 m, several Towers, a Mosque, a Palace and Arabic Baths.

The Cathedral

     It  is a Catholic church built in thr XVII century in a mix of Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical style.                        Designed on a central plan with a nave and four aisles of uneven height. The building is supported externally by normal and flying buttresses and crossing the transept is a dome.

Wine Cellars

     Jerez’s wine cellars are large spacious buildings with high – tiled roofs. They are designed in such a way to keep a constant temperature und humidity in semidarkness, conditions essential for the production of sherry.

     You can visit several world wide reknown bodegas such as Tio Pepe, Osborne or Sandeman.

Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art

     During the 15th century the Carthusian monks brought their world famous horse to Jerez, becoming this an instant symbol of the city.

     Nowadays a number of equestrian events and shows will delight you, along with the annual Horse Fair, where you can enjoy local music, wines and an amazing atmosphere and many other events forming part of the Harvest Festival.

Flamenco

     Being its cradle, it is no surprise that the best singers, dancers and guitarists have all been in Jerez.

     A well equipped Flamenco Centre located in the Pemartín Palace (Plaza San Juan) offers the most up-to-date audiovisual technology, a specialised library of 3.000 books and an extensive sound archive of 8.500 audio reordings available for free consultation.

     If you want to see the real deal, you have several tablaos offering live performances daily.

     The traditional Bulería Festival (September) or the famous Jerez International Flamenco Festival (February and March) will inmerse you in the whole experience.

Motocross Circuit 

     Inaugurated in 1985, Circuito de Jerez quickly became one of the most famous tracks in Europe organizing Formula One, Sport Prototypes and Motorcycles World Championships.  

     Today, Circuito de Jerez is one of the most important venues in the MotoGP Calendar, having been celebrating the race non-stop since 1987 and always offering that special atmosphere which visitors appreciate so much, coming en masse year after year.

Nearby Beaches 

     Only 15 to 25 minutes drive you can enjoy the beautiful beaches of Sanlucar, Puerto Santamaria, Chipiona or Rota. 

    Don't miss out the opportunity to relax and unwind while sunbathe or to practise some water sports in the Atlantic Ocean.
